After graduating with his PhD in Mathematics in 2003, Dr. Lathrom spent several years in award-winning applied research for NSA developing mathematical models for vulnerability analysis. Additionally, he has completed several projects in reliability analysis of energy units for NASA. Other projects have included strategies for vulnerability analysis for covert organizations in missions work, programming research on internet filtering software, research analysis on area real property markets, development of interactive gaming applications for a small business, encrypted code writing for a financial services organization, and more. Much of his time working in the business world has coincided with teaching in mathematics, his most significant position being Associate Professor at Missouri Southern State University. Dr. Lathrom specializes in creative strategies for problem solving using data, statistics and mathematics through computer implementation. He describes himself as a “problem solver,” and has never stopped learning the latest technology for getting the job done.
